Kashflow Acquired By Iris

We must be doing something right!

For many years we have been using the Iris Accounts Production and Tax Return programs. Iris is the “Sage” of the accountancy profession, being used by more accountants than any other program. When the writer personally started using Iris it was a choice between (amongst others) Iris and Ibis. Ibis has long since disappeared, having been taken over a number of times. Iris is still here.

A number of years after we started offering a payroll system using Sage Payroll we made the decision to move to a more local product, PAYE Master. It was only a couple of years after we moved that PAYE Master was acquired by Iris.

As most of you will know, we are strong proponents of a cloud-based bookkeeping product called Kashflow, and we now have about 40 clients using this program. The advantages are that it is simpler for non-bookkeepers to operate than Sage or Quickbooks, and the records accessible by both ourselves and the client at any time. From our viewpoint we are not perpetually concerned about which particular version of the program a client is using, or having to remember usernames and passwords.

And this month the news broke that Kashflow had been acquired by, you’ve guessed it, Iris.

If there are any other software suppliers out there who fancy selling out to Iris then perhaps they should contact us. We can always put a good word in!
