EU Referendum Result – our response

So the EU referendum has come and gone. As a firm we did not try to offer any advice on this prior to the vote. We were not qualified to do so, there was plenty of advice being offered from other sources (some may even say “too much”) and there was a divergence of views within the firm. However, whether we voted in or out we must now all work together to make a success of the new situation.

Leaving to one side the leadership contest within the Conservative Party and the current turmoil within the Labour Party, both of which are a direct result of the vote to leave the EU, as we write the pound is bouncing back sharply from its record fall last Friday, as is the FTSE share index. We wait to see whether this continues.

As a firm we do not profess to see or foresee the future. What we will do is to review developments in the situation over the next months and years, and pass onto our clients details of how they will affected.
