Hard as it is to believe sat here in a short-sleeve shirt in beautiful sunshine but it is less than one month to the start of November and less than three months to Christmas.
Some of you will recall that for the last couple of years we have been supporting the “Movember” campaign which aims to increase awareness of male cancers and, hopefully, fund research into cures or, at least, better treatment. Last year with your help and support we raised nearly £3,000 and the good work that this helped to fund can be found on the Movember website.
We shall be participating again this year, and look forward to your continuing support. During November we will keep you appraised of our progress with regular updates. Meanwhile, if there is anyone out there who would consider participating then please let us know and we will welcome you into our team.
The other charity who we support is Claire House Childrens Hospice. As usual, we will not be sending out Christmas cards. Instead we will be sending you all an electronic greeting and sending the savings in cost and postage to Claire House. A couple of years ago we invited you to reply to that email, and we increased our donation by £1 for each reply received. We shall be repeating that offer this year, so you will be able to support Claire House at no cost to yourself simply by clicking a couple of buttons. Keep an eye out for that e-mail!
